Ashtanga Yoga

This system of Indian Hatha Yoga is based on the tradition of Shri T. Krishnamacharya and was taken over by Sri Pattabhi Jois of Mysore in India which gave it its current form. Originally this type of yoga was aimed at young adolescents to help them “channel” their energy.

Chains of “classical” postures (Asanas) are connected by means of repetitive sequences (Vinyasas), all of which are punctuated by breathing (prana).

It is precisely the breath (Ujjayi Pranayama) that is linked to the movement that reinforces the detoxifying effect of this practice and makes it physically demanding.

As you go, you will learn the sun salutations A and B the first series (Primary Series) also called Yoga Therapy (or Yoga Chikitsa in Sanskrit), and later perhaps the second most demanding series during a workshop …

Ashtanga Yoga is synonymous with discipline because you can learn your basic routines to practice ideally 6 days / 7 and it is also for those who seek a quality work-out that challenges you.

Duration
Classes are 75 minutes long.

Intensity
We offer beginner and level 1-2 courses (slightly advanced)

Equipment
We provide you with Lululemon quality mats and material (blocks, straps, ...) but you can bring your own mat if you prefer.

It is better to book and pay for your course online because our places are limited by space and some courses are more popular than others.

COURSES LEVEL

The first months of the opening of the studio, we mainly offer beginner classes. Then we plan to add level 2 and 3 courses.
